I was thrilled to be asked to present on Learning Pool’s 2010 Conference Plan at my first Steering Group meeting in London last week.
With everyone comfortable, Mary McKenna kicked off the Steering Group by giving members from councils such as Norfolk, Dorset and Basildon a flavour of Learning Pool’s current activities in the sphere of public sector e-learning. Mary outlined some exciting content that our team is developing with our customers.
With the fruit basket doing the rounds, Wendy Henry and Michelle Hallam-Wrenn from Lincolnshire County Council shared how they are working towards an e-maturity module through embedded e-learning accompanied by internal marketing.
Kevin Gallagher, our new Account Manager, set the bar high with his delivery on our latest Dynamic Learning Environment (DLE) reporting features and new Authoring Tool updates.
After the usual wrestling match with PowerPoint, a strong black coffee and a bit of nerves thrown into the mix for good measure, I was good to go.
Time for me to step up to the mark. I soon learned that our customers revel in shaping our Public Sector Learning Conference. The feedback and input on the day I received is invaluable and I will carry these through to the plans for our conference on 12 May 2010. Thank you.
To wrap up the day, London Borough of Ealing’s Kamm Sidhu kindly shared her e-learning achievements since becoming a Learning Pool customer. It’s exciting to see how e-learning has been so successful for our 2009 cadets! Check out photos of the day here.
We then all went for a lovely Christmas lunch to a quaint French restaurant – Christmas crackers included! Liz interviewed various people – most famously Carol Woolley from Worcestershire who was nabbed on her way into the ladies loos. Sorry Carol. View Carol’s interview here.
Thank you to all for making the event so successful and we look forward to hosting our next Steering Group in March 2010.
