Local Authorities save by working collaboratively

We mentioned, in a previous post, how local authorities spend £540m per year on training, about two thirds of which is duplicated and therefore unnecessary.
This singular, silo approach to creating and delivering training resources leads to a huge waste of public money of circa £360m.  That’s a lot of efficiency savings money right there.

Funding for Social Media projects

Public sector organisations looking at social media activities should apply now for funding available via IDeA.  Learning Pool members could bid for funding to create an elearning course on ‘What is social media?’
CLG has made £5 million available to councils for social media and customer insight projects through its Service Transformation and Efficiency Capital Fund.
