At one of Learning Pool’s recent Learning Live events Donald Clark’s speech evoked such a passionate response, we’ve decided to share it again along with details on how to register to see the video of his talk.
The e-learning guru took centre stage in Cardiff and presented a refreshingly honest view of learning practices with, ’7 fails in e-learning (7 solutions)’.
7 Fails in e-learning (7 solutions)
Delegates who attended Cardiff described Donald’s unorthodox talk as both inspiring and thought-provoking.
Find out below why media-rich isn’t always mind-rich, how video can be harmful to learning and why Donald feels any self-respecting L&D professional should ‘Kill Kirkpatrick’.
A bit about Donald…
Donald Clark was CEO (and one of the original founders) of Epic Group plc, which established itself as the leading company in the UK e-learning market.
Donald has been involved in the e-learning industry for more than 20 years, designing some of the first computer-based learning programmes in the early 1980s. He then went on to co-found Epic Group PLC in 1986. As former CEO, Donald’s experience ranges from programming to course development, commercial delivery and strategic management.
Now retired from this role, he remains committed to e-learning and its potential to revolutionise the access to and delivery of education for both individuals and businesses.
He has won many awards for the design and implementation of e-learning and is a regular speaker at national and international conferences as well as a regular (and controversial) blogger: donaldclarkplanb.blogspot.com.
