The Mental Capacity Act 2005 Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (MCA DOLS) came into force in England on 1st April 2009.
These safeguards give protection for vulnerable people who may be deprived of their liberty in a hospital or care home.
Councils have a statutory responsibility for administering the MCA DOLS at a local level, so your staff need to know about them and be aware of their legal obligations.
So we've produced a free e-learning course called Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards. Learning Pool members can find it in the course catalogue under social care.
