Let us create e-learning for you

We’re very proud of our course catalogue of over 200 courses, featuring case studies, scenarios and best practice from local government.
Courses have been created using our Authoring Tool and, for some of the more media rich courses, using other software too.
We also develop bespoke e-learning content using our industry leading instructional designers and subject matter experts.
We can help you source that just-right image for your e-learning, right through to creating a whole blended learning programme.
The e-learning we've developed has been for large and small local authorities, Unitary authorities and Police authorities. Some are existing Learning Pool subscribers, but not all.
Some of our recent projects are featured below and see full details in our leaflet.
Passport to Procurement

We have an e-learning course on public sector procurement training for budget holders and non-procurement specialists in the Local Government sector.
Originally commissioned by the National Training User Group through the IDeA this procurement e-learning course was revised by Norfolk County Council and the North East Regional Improvement and Efficiency Partnership. The course now covers new procurement legislation and procurement principles.
Hundreds of learners have accessed it to learn about procurement thereby proving the demand for basic procurement training.
The course was developed as part of a National Procurement Strategy project and aims to help local authorities be more effective with their procurement practices and, ultimately, improve service delivery.
All learners with a .gov.uk email address in England and Wales can get free access to the course until May 2009. Visit www.passport2procurement.com.
Flexible and Remote working

Remote working is a popular topic at the moment. Project Nomad, the centre of excellence for mobile and flexible working, talks of a council who saved £200k pa in Housing Benefits plus another who has saved £1.6m in Social Housing – all through remote and flexible working.
Together with Learning Pool, and using Nomad as subject matter experts, Wendy Kay and her team created a piece of e-learning to help LB Bexley rollout out their Remote working strategy.
The e-learning is part of a programme to support remote working that also includes a tailored workshop and access to other information on Bexley’s intranet.
This course is now available in the course catalogue. We’ve recently customised it for Cheshire County Council and are working on requests from other authorities to do the same for them.
Transforming e-Democracy
Our eDemocracy and community engagement course was updated recently to reflect the changes in local government.
The course gives an overview of eDemocracy and how it can be delivered.
The course content is provided by ICELE, the organisation who provides best practice advice, support and practical solutions to help local authorities increase national eParticipation rates.
In the pipeline

We’ve got some really interesting projects coming up on subjects ranging from Equality and Diversity, Migrant Workers Awareness, Managing under-performance and Creativity and Risk.
We’re also just about to complete a Mapping Services Agreement e-learning course for IDeA.
The courses are graphically rich and interactive and many feature podcasts, video and multi media.
Got an idea for some e-learning and need someone else to create it for you? We'd love to give you a quote.

Testimonial
"The key challenge has been to try and condense such a huge subject like Flexible and Remote working into manageable modules.
This project is a key part of our main corporate priority – Bexley First – so we have used the expertise at Learning Pool to help us get it right."
